Welcome to Summer Fun!
Below you will find activities to do with your children during the summer months. These activities were shared with families at our Annual Friends and Families Picnic held at Camp Harkness in Waterford, CT. Many of these activities relate to Content Standard 12: Human and Environmental Interaction from the CT Framework K-12 Curricular Goals and Standards. Students will use geographic tools and technology to explain the interactions of humans and the larger environment, and the evolving consequences of those interactions.
We will continue to add to this page and even expand it in the coming weeks and throughout the fall. It is our hope that more families become familiar with CT’s Content Standards. We thought sharing activities for you to do with your children that relate to specific standards would be an effective means of introducing and reinforcing them. Engaging in exciting learning opportunities at home throughout the summer and school year is a great way to be involved in your child’s education. Research shows that when parents are involved in their child’s education, student achievement improves.
