Resources for Educators

In 2012, Connecticut passed a law (Public Act 12-173) related to students with disabilities. ┬áThe law now requires school districts, upon request of a parent, guardian, student or surrogate parent, to provide an opportunity for that parent to meet with a member of the Planning and Placement Team (PPT) prior to the first PPT meeting, to discuss the PPT process and the parent’s concerns about their child. ┬áThe resources in this section are intended to help school district staff communicate this information effectively with diverse families.
