Collaboration Between Families & Schools

CPAC is working with four school districts in the state to “Enhance Collaborative Relationships between Families and Schools.”  This is being done under a State Personnel Development Grant (SPDG) designed to increase the capacity of school personnel to engage families in their children’s education.  Increasing family engagement in their children’s education is proven to be effective as a means to increase student outcomes.  A variety of resources, including websites, articles and books were referenced on the subject to support this effort.

School Districts have formed FAST (Families and Schools Together) Teams which are made up of family members, district and school administrators, special and general educators and various related services personnel.

Several activities, materials and events have already been completed and more are under development.
