Wrightslaw Special Education and Advocacy Training Conference

On Thursday, April 28, 2011, CPAC and the CT Council on Developmental Disabilities co-sponsored a conference presented by Peter Wright, Esq. entitled, “Wrightslaw Special Education and Advocacy Training.” The conference was a great success with 188 parents, educators, service providers and students from 84 towns in attendance. The conference was filled with information about IDEA, understanding tests and measurements, Section 504, No Child Left Behind (NCLB), Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and much more. Feedback from the event was overwhelmingly positive. One Speech-Language Pathologist who was in attendance commented, “This was so fantastic and at such a reasonable cost. The information is invaluable and it should be mandatory for everyone who works in special education.” Another parent wrote, “Peter is down to earth, enjoyable and has the gift of teaching to others as a peer and not as a teacher! Would love to attend another one so I can teach others in my circle of friends.”  Follow the photos link to view pictures from the event.   If you attended the event and have any feedback or questions, please let us know.  Call us Monday through Friday at 1-800-445-2722 or email us at cpac@cpacinc.org.
